It adds a 3D infrared sensor to your iPad. It’s open software, and apparently it can dump data right to CAD. Combine that with 3-D printers and we are 1 step closer to replicators my friend.
Their campaign has more than a month to go and it’s already 750% funded (Techcrunch reports it actually met it’s goal in under 3 hours). Very cool piece of kit for all kinds of uses. When it hits the market at large these can make some really big changes to a lot of industries. Surveyors, real-estate, archaeology, construction, designers of all stripes and colors … these could make for some heady times of innovation in all of those industries so keep an eye out for them going retail.
