Over 2013 I became an expert at doing nothing on Saturdays. It’s a conflict between wanting to be productive with my free time and a desire to have some real Free Time.
I don’t know how people with lives busier than mine manage. As the world keeps moving faster I question our ability to adapt. We’re obsessed with only doing productive things. Doing anything just for pleasure is becoming a lost art.
Example: video games. Why do achievements exist? It’s as if we’re reducing our lives to only doing things that get points. I can’t say I think that’s entirely positive.
